Analysis of some carbamate and urea herbicides in foods by gas-liquid chromatography after alkylation.

چکیده
The quantitative analysis of a number of carbamate and urea herbicides in selected foods was examined. The compounds were extracted from the crops with ethanol which was subsequently partitioned between water and chloroform. The organic extract was evaporated to dryness and alkylated with sodium hydride-methyl iodide. The products were extracted with hexane and directly analyzed by gas chromatography. Detection of the derivatives was accomplished with a Coulson electrolytic conductivity detector in the nitrogen mode. No column cleanup was required for any of the samples down to the 0.01 ppm level. Detection limits were about 0.005 ppm. Recoveries were usually 60-100% depending upon the herbicide. Confirmation of the chlorine-containing herbicides was carried out with the Coulson in the chloride (reductive) mode.

One of the primary goals of the US Geological Survey (USGS) Laboratory in Lawrence, Kansas, is to develop analytical methods for the analysis of herbicide metabolites in surface and ground water that are vital to the study of herbicide fate and degradation pathways in the environment. Methods to measure metabolite concentrations from three major classes of herbicides--triazine, chloroacetanilid...
متن کاملDetection and Determination of some Migrated Chemicals from Plastic Containers into Different Drinks and Liquids Using Dispersive Liquid-liquid Microextraction Prior to Gas Chromatography
Migration of chemicals from plastic containers into drinks and liquids containing them, is supposed to be a hazardous phenomenon and results in many health problems. Sample preparation is of great importance due to trace amounts analysis of these compounds. In this research, dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction is applied for the extraction and preconcentration of the migrated compounds pri...

متن کاملDetermination of Synthetic Phenolic Antioxidants in Biological Fluids Based on Air-assisted Liquid-liquid Microextraction Followed by Gas Chromatography-flame Ionization Detection
An air–assisted liquid–liquid microextraction method for the extraction and preconcentration of trace amounts of some synthetic phenolic antioxidants in biological fluids followed by their determination by gas chromatography–flame ionization detection has been reported. In this method the target analytes are extracted into a few microliters of carbon tetrachloride (extraction solvent) from an a...

Objective(s): Dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction coupled with gas chromatography (GC)-flame ionization detector was developed for the determination of valproic acid (VPA) in human plasma. Materials and Methods: Using a syringe, a mixture of suitable extraction solvent (40 µl chloroform) and disperser (1 ml acetone) was quickly added to 10 ml of diluted plasma sample containing VPA (pH, 1....
